Your iPhone doesn’t just want to be your phone anymore. It wants to be your brain.
Apple just released its latest iPhone with “Apple Intelligence,” basically an AI that can compose emails, summarize messages, and apparently read your mind before you unlock the screen.
Cool? Definitely. Terrifying? Also yes.
Let’s be honest. Most of us are already excessively obsessed with our gadgets. We wake up and immediately scroll Instagram to see what Mr Beast posted overnight with one eye open. We take our phones to the toilet acting like they’re our emotional support animals. And now our devices are being enhanced to think for us too?
At this rate, our brains are just there for decoration.
Yeah, Apple’s AI can help you write that awkward breakup text or summarize a long sample essay you’re too lazy to read. But if your phone’s doing all the reading, writing, remembering, and even answering for you… what is there left for you to actually do? Blink?
It seems like we’re outsourcing basic human abilities to a gadget. Surprise! The next thing you know, we’ll need artificial intelligence to remind us how to blink and breathe.

You know what’s the craziest part? These tools are being marketed as “solutions” to our tech burnout. Like burnout caused by the same devices we can’t let go of. It’s like your phone is the reason your house is on fire, then 5 seconds later it’s offering you a fancy little AI fire extinguisher… for $999!
Maybe the solution isn’t smarter technology. Maybe we just need to stop being so attached to it.
Seriously. Do you really need a notification every time someone likes your Instagram story? Most definitely not. Can you survive eating a single meal without watching 14 straight viral AI ASMR videos? Absolutely.
It’s okay to log off. You can go for a walk without AirPods. You can eat dinner with your family without scrolling. You can even (brace yourself!) leave your phone in a different room. You might actually feel better. Less anxious, more present, more real and alive.
So before you run to buy the next shimmering gadget that assures to make your life easier, ask yourself, do I need smarter tech, or do I just need to give my brain a chance to do its job again?
SO true. Everyone is addicted to their phones now (including me), but I swear it’s so hard to get off! Especially when all your friends communicate through social media platforms T_T
